A study conducted by Australian scientists found that eating chickpeas is a great way for people on diets stay on track with their weight loss goals. The study found that the people who ate half a cup of chickpeas daily consume fewer calories from high fat, low fiber foods. Furthermore, once the dieters stopped eating the chickpeas they went back to unhealthy snacking. Researchers also found that the the subjects in the study had healthier bowl movements and an increase in protein in their diet.
