Chickpeas For Stronger Bones

By August 17, 2012All About Chickpeas

“Got Milk?”, yes we all know how important milk is to building bones. Scientists are now saying that eating Mediterranean food is also good for the bones. Mediterranean people are less likely to develop osteoporosis. In fact, they recommend eating foods that contain olive oil for people with osteoporosis. Olive oil has high levels of the hormone osteocalcin. This hormone in the blood is associated with stronger bones.
For stronger bones and a healthier life, we recommend a Mediterranean style diet. Eating falafel, hummus, salads, and fruits and vegetables, and of coarse chickpea containing foods will all aid in a healthier skeletal system. One delicious recipe would be a falafel sandwich with hummus, olive oil, and a salad. Do yourself and your bones a favor. Eat healthy, eat chickpeas!
